Girl on a hillHello! My name is Lou, and I was born and raised in Panama.

Since I was young I always had the desire of exploring the world. I lived one year in Barcelona and that experience is what pushed me to want travel more.

I’ve had the opportunity to visit over 50 different cities in 12 different countries but my bucket list just grows bigger every day.

I’ve been vegan for nearly 4 years now and besides traveling I also love cooking, reading, photography  and I have an obsession with rabbits all thanks to my bunny Bailey (R.I.P).

The Vegan Hopper was created because of my passion for travel and food.

The first time I traveled as a vegan it was quite a challenge and probably you are on the same stage as I used to be when I was just beginning and asking yourself these questions:

  • What can I eat?
  • Will I be hungry all the time?
  • Do I need to bring my own food everywhere?..and many more questions.

Now add travel to the equation and being out of your comfort zone.

Depending on the place you want to go, it can be a little scary for some people. For example: going on a tour in the middle of the jungle or staying on a remote island where you have no control about the food arrangements.

The purpose of this page is to inspire people and show them the tools and resources  to explore the world but at the same time be able to enjoy delicious vegan meals.

I want to share my experiences and useful tips so everyone can enjoy their time as much as possible and prove that you can travel on a plant-based diet without the concerns that you won’t find anything nice to eat. All the contrary, I want to show all the amazing things you can find!
